Steve Ngo’s (the) Best

Last Thursday, 2 Girls, 1 Queen attended the Citizen Hope and Californians for Justice Happy Hour and performance at the Pork Store/Morac in the Mission. (Morac is 2 Girl’s 1 Queen’s unofficial official favorite bar, btw.)

Proceeds from the event went to Californians for Justice’s Summer Youth Leadership Academy, an intensive leadership development program for high school-aged youth of color, and the Campaign for Quality Education, which mobilizes thousands of students from across California to reform education funding and develop state and local education policy agendas.

We ran into Community College Board Trustee Steve Ngo and his wife, Tina Lee, at the event. Somehow the conversation between Steve and Aimee went to the topic of them having irregularly-shaped/large heads, which prompted the following spontaneous photoshoot. (Insert obvious jokes about politicians having big heads here.) Enjoy!

Steve: “Elaine, you need to stand back so we can get the full effect here.”

Optical illusion #1: contrasting Elaine’s normal-sized head with Steve Ngo’s large head and Aimee’s oblong/medium-sized head.

Optical illusion #2: Now Elaine looks big-headed. It’s only fitting, ‘cause she’s got a big ego.

Cutest newlyweds in San Francisco: Steve Ngo and his wife, SF native/fashionista Tina Lee.

Some random facts about Steve: he was born in Kentucky but raised in New Orleans; he’s one of the founding members of Citizen Hope; he really loves the movie 27 Dresses but thinks Definitely, Maybe is better; his wife mocks him by making him try on hats that don’t fit.

2 Girls, 1 Queen also ran into photographer Geoff King, who just graduated from Stanford Law School and is busy studying for the Bar Exam. (Geoff is one of three people we know studying for the Bar, including School Board member Jane Kim and Aimee’s BFF Anya - good luck, guys!)

Because photographers never get their pictures taken: Michelle Myers and Geoff King (become a Facebook fan of Geoff’s photography here).
