Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Where’s the bride? There was no bride! It was a celebration of the bridesmaids, not the the oldsmaids. (Duh.)

The invitations told us to show up in our best or worst bridesmaids dresses. But we didn’t have any bridesmaids dresses because none of our friends are getting married. Not because nobody wants to marry our friends, but because God and California do not want the gays to get married. :(

So Elaine had to lend Aimee a Jessica McClintock dress she wore when she was in Andrea and Lizette’s cotillion back in 2000. The lavender confection won Aimee best dressed, thanks to Elaine’s superior styling skills. Elaine wore a vintage dress she bought for her friend Megan’s Non-Bridal Shower, aka the “I’m Not Getting Married” party. There was no bride at that party, either.
